Position Title: Extended Day Educator

We are looking for before and/or after-school positions Monday to Friday beginning October 2022



  • Registered Early Childhood Educator, Child and Youth Diploma/Degree, or Recreation and Leisure preferred

  • Experience working with children 0-12 years of age, families, and the community in an early learning setting

  • Current police record check with vulnerable sector check (Ontario)

  • First aid and CPR

General Responsibilities:

Extended Day Educators will be responsible for providing a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment. They will plan and maintain high quality experiences for the children that are age appropriate and enhance children’s development, while ensuring the philosophy of the program is upheld.


Main Duties Will Include:

  • Planning, developing and implementing programs with stimulating activities to promote the physical, social emotional and intellectual well-being of the children

  • Supervising children within the program both indoors and outdoors

  • Serving the children snacks and lunch

  • Responsible for record keeping (i.e. attendance logs, etc.)

  • Maintain a safe and engaging environment

  • On-going communication with families

  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and agency meetings as required

  • Report to the Extended Day Supervisor

  • Familiarity with the following curriculum/resources:

    • How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years

    • Child Care and Early Years Act 

    • Emergent Curriculum

    • Play Based Learning
